Grandparent’s Morning Tea

It was wonderful to see the Wendy Wilson Hall filled with GHPS grandparents last Friday at the Grandparent’s Morning Tea. Many grandparents attended assembly before enjoying time being taken on tours of their grandchildren’s classrooms and being amazed by their artwork that has been displayed around the school all week for Education Week. There was delightful chatter heard as grandparents (and their grandchildren!) enjoyed tea/coffee and an array of delicious home made cakes, slices, mini quiches and some freshly baked scones with homemade jam & whipped cream!
Thank you to all the helpers that made this morning tea so special – another special occasion where so many wonderful memories were created.

Financial Update
The first air-conditioning unit for the Prep area will be ordered soon using the funds raised by GPA to date ($3,192 is the last calculated figure we have available). We will continue to fundraise aiming for another 2 air-conditioning units for the Grade 2 and Prep areas to be funded by GPA by the end of the year (our goal is to raise nearly another $8,000 for this purpose).
GPA funds are also used for running various specialist programs.
Cake Raffle – Fridays – Tickets $1
The GPA co-ordinate a weekly cake raffle every Friday!
One family signs up each week to showcase their baking skills with something sweet – such as a cake, a batch of cupcakes, biscuits or slice, etc.
Students can buy tickets for $1 each to be in with a chance to win the coveted prize.
And if it is your week to bake, your child or children get their chance to take to the stage at assembly to show off what’s on offer and invite students to buy a ticket.

Hot Chocolates and Berri Fruit sticks on Offer (with popcorn on 8th June!)
As well as being very much enjoyed by GHPS students, the Friday snacks are a great fundraiser for our school (remember we raised over $5,600 during 2017) – so support us by volunteering to help and also purchasing the snacks!

Students who haven’t pre-ordered won’t miss out – you can purchase your snack on the day for $1 each.
Remember to bring along your own cup/mug from home and you will receive a free marshmallow!
The very popular POPCORN will be offered as an alternative on Friday 8th June – Note this date in your diaries!
SkoolBag Update
Our school’s app, SkoolBag, is being updated with some improvements to give you more control over the content and notifications you receive.
You do not need to download an update, however, you will notice some changes when using the app.
Save Subscription Group Settings across devices
You will be invited to set up a username and password when opening the app. These details will be saved to allow for quick access in the future. Your account details allow you to log into the SkoolBag app on different devices and see the same groups and subscription settings. After logging in, you will be prompted to subscribe to groups.
