Extracurricular Activities at Glen Huntly Primary

At Glen Huntly Primary, we believe that a well-rounded education extends beyond the classroom. Our extensive range of extracurricular activities is designed to nurture students’ interests, skills, and passions. Here’s a glimpse into what we offer:

Cooking classes
Each term all students do cooking with our Cooking Teacher, Fiona and learn a range of skills while cooking a lovely meal.

Chess Club
Engage in strategic thinking and problem-solving through our Chess Club. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player, our club provides a supportive environment to hone your skills.

Choir
Let your voice be heard! Our Choir welcomes students who love to sing and perform. Experience the joy of making music together and showcase your talent at school events and competitions.

School band

The school has a rock band, the Party Hats that preforms throughout the year. The band includes singers, drummers, guitarist and keyboard players,

Origami Club
Discover the art of paper folding in our Origami Club. Learn intricate designs and techniques that develop fine motor skills and foster creativity.

Hens Care Program
Connect with nature through our Hens Care Program. Students take on the responsibility of looking after our four school hens, collecting eggs, learning about animal care, sustainability, and teamwork.

Coding Club
Dive into the world of technology with our Coding Club. Students explore the basics of programming and create their own projects, preparing them for the digital future.

Gardening Club
Get your hands dirty in our Gardening Club. From planting seeds to harvesting vegetables, students learn about botany and the importance of sustainable practices.

Guitar Lessons
Strum your way to musical proficiency with our Guitar Lessons. Students of all skill levels can learn to play, read music, and perform.

Blue Tongue Lizard Care
Experience the wonder of wildlife with our Blue Tongue Lizard, Bluey. Students have the unique opportunity to learn about and care for this fascinating reptile, promoting an understanding of animal biology and habitat.

Sports Programs
Stay active and develop teamwork skills with our diverse sports offerings:

Learn to Swim
Students gain confidence in the water while learning essential swimming techniques during our Learn to Swim program in November.
