GHPS IS COMMITTED TO CHILD SAFETY

    Learning Today.                     Leading Tomorrow.

WORLD TEACHERS DAY

Today is world teachers’ day and I would like to sincerely thank all our teachers for everything they do.

Their teaching and guidance are truly impactful, and I appreciate everything they have done for us.

Thank you for constantly motivating and inspiring our students to grow and learn and become better version of themselves.

Happy Teachers Day!

SPRING FAIR

I would like to acknowledge the work of the Spring Fair Committee and encourage families to support them in any way they can.

The Spring Fair is the major fundraiser for the school and this year will go towards the continued development of our playground facilities on the east side.

For those families new to the school, this is the first Spring Fair since 2019. It is an opportunity for the community to come together and have a fun day.

The Spring Fair does rely on the willingness of parents to support with donations and time.

SPOOKATHON

There are only 6 more sleeps until the Spookathon.

Come dressed in your spookiest outfit to walk around the east side’s school grounds. All money raised will be for new library books.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Lisa.

DIWALI

Next Friday, November 1 is Diwali. Many of our families will be celebrating the festival of light with friends and family.

At next Friday’s assembly some of students will be presenting information about Diwali and performing a dance. Classes will also be reading more about Diwali in their literacy lessons.

FUNDRAISING

The combined efforts of our fundraising raised just on $9000 for the purchase of books for our students.

Reading is a priority, and I want all our students to develop a love of reading and feel the joy in the books they read.

When teachers provide quality books and literature our students will want to read which means they have the best opportunity to become better readers.

PREP TRANSITION FOR 2025

It was lovely to be able to welcome our 2025 Preps and their family to their first transition session last Thursday.

The remaining transition sessions will be on October 31, November 14 and 28. Each session starts at 9.00.

STAFFING

Next week we say goodbye to one of our valued Education Support staff, Pepi Hoskin.

Pepi has been with us since the start of the year and has worked to support a number of our students from prep to grade 6.

Pepi has now completed her degree in education and is moving to Sydney with her partner and will start her teaching career. We wish her all the very best.

Enjoy your weekend and take care,

Nerida Burns   Principal              Cameron White   Assistant Principal
